Description Furse Papers - file, 'Tennant, Mrs 11 Sep 1914-25 Jun 1918', containing correspondence , memoranda and messages between Katharine Furse, asCommandant-in-Chief of the Women's VADs and subsequently as Director of the WRNS, and Mary Tennant, Director of the Women's Department, National Service. Also some documents between Tennant and various correspondents. All 1 Sep 1914-6 Nov 1919, re: the organisation of women's war work, including in France. Also includes: 'Memorandum on Women Power', 29 Nov 1916; and a letter from Violet Markham, Demobilisation Branch HQ, Army of the Rhine, 6 Nov 1919.
