Description A puppet crocodile, part of a Punch and Judy set belonging to puppeteer Peter Butchard (1909-2009). The puppet has a painted wooden head, with hinged jaws and a gap to form a throat. There are staples to attach a tongue, now missing. The body is made in two shades of green cotton fabric, twill and plain woven. The reptile has four stubby legs in green twill, the back legs with stuffed pad feet. The scales are suggested by an upper covering of black wool fabric with a diamond pattern overlaid in strands of yellow wool.
