No. 42 in Fanshawe's Baltic and later album, 1843 - 83. Captioned by the artist on the album page below the image, as title. Glen Orrin is a valley of the Ross and Cromarty district of the Highlands of Scotland. It carries the waters of the 26-mile River Orrin from its source through a number of lochs and (now) the Orrin Reservoir to join the River Conon near Urray, to the south-west of Conon Bridge. As the river enters the Conon is cascades over the Falls of Orrin. This is one of a group of four drawings recording an autumn visit by Fanshawe to Scotland in his retirement (PAI4713 - 4716). |
