Description | A cylindrical tin with lid containing shot from the 1845 British Northwest Passage Expedition led by Sir John Franklin. The tin was photographed by Lt. Cheyne in 1859 when the Franklin relics were displayed at RUSI's museum - Case 5, bottom left corner with the handwritten label 'Tin cylinder containing shot'. The tin has '45' on it, indicating that it was displayed at the Royal Naval Museum, Greenwich, Case 2, No. 45 'Tin cylinder'. |
