Object ID G4266
Description Nine Inuit children (probably all boys), wearing summer clothing made from seal skin. The children on the left are hidden in shadow. The negative has evidence of masking paper having been pasted onto the emulsion side. It is not known where this group was photographed. The Phoenix visited four settlements along the west coast of Greenland: Holsteinborg, Godhavn, Proven, and Upernarvick between 8 June and 21 July 1854.
