Description Counter commemorating Samuel Plimpsoll (1824-1898). Obverse: Samuel Plimsoll's bust (left), beard, open coat. Legend: (below) 'S. PLIMSOLL'; (above) 'HOUSE OF COMMONS 22 JULY 1875 LONDON.' Reverse: A partially dismasted brig foundering. Exergue: 'COFFIN SHIP.' Fitted with a loop.
