Obverse: Short busts conjoined (both right) of Gaspard de Coligny (1516-1572) in a cap, robe and order and the Stadtholder, William the Silent (1533-1584) in a ruff and armour. Legend: 'UNITED . STATES . OF . AMERICA HUGUENOT . HALF . DOLLAR'. Inscription (right) 'IN GOD WE TRUST'. Below busts 'COLIGNY . WILLIAM . THE . SILENT'. Reverse: Port quarter view of a three-masted ship under sail. Legend: 'HUGUENOT-WALLOON . TERCENTENARY'. Below: 'FOUNDING . OF . NEW-NETHERLAND'. Inscription left and right '1624-1924'.
