Description Freedom of London scroll for Sir Edward Berry, contained in a white cardboard box. Inscribed on the scroll are the words SIR EDWARD BERRY M.A. OF LONDON WAS ADMITTED INTO THE FREEDOM AFORSAID AND MADE THE DECLARATION REQUIRED BY LAW IN THE MAYORALTY 'SIR RICHARD CARRGLYN' MAYOR AND 'RICHARD CLARK ESQUIRE' CHAMBERLAIN, AND IS ENTERED INTO THE BOOK SIGNED WITH THE LETTER X RELATING TO THE PURCHASING OF FREEDOM AND THE ADMISSION OF FREEMAN THE EIGHTTH DAY OF AUGUST IN THE 39TH YEAR IN THE REIGN OF KING GEORGE THE THIRD, AND IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 1799. WINTESS: WHERE THE SENT OF THE OFFICE OF CHAMBERLAIN OF THE SAID CITY IS HEREUNTO AFIXED DATED IN THE CHAMBER OF THE GUILDHALLOF THE SAME CITY OF THE DAY AND YEAR ABOVESAID". The coat of arms of the City of London are printed on the left hand side.
