Object ID UNI0038
Description Three cornered hat that was probably a captain's undress, foul weather hat. The hat is made of beaver felt which has been covered with a black glazed linen, or holland. This would have made the hat waterproof to a certain degree. The edges are bound in black silk and there is a gold lace loop (vellum and check pattern) secured by a gilt brass button indicating the rank of captain. The cockade is now missing.
